Contact Lenses

At Mittleman Eye , we perform full contact lens service. Our doctors are highly skilled and trained in fitting and refitting all types of contact lenses. When patients decide to get contact lenses for the first time, or if they are considering changing the type of contacts that they are currently wearing, they are faced with a wide range of choices. There are many different types of contacts, including rigid and flexible, extended wear, disposable and planned replacement lenses. Some can be made as bifocals, others come in various colors. After a comprehensive eye exam and discussion of your eye condition, your doctor will help you decide which type of contacts is right for you.

Fitting

As each person's eye is a different size and shape, so are the contact lenses that fit the eye. In order to achieve optimal levels of vision correction and comfort, patients must be fitted for contact lenses. Your doctor can prescribe the right kind for your individual eyes. Contact lens fitting is done by measuring the corneal diameter and curvature to ensure centered and stable vision. This is done with and instrument called keratometer, which is a machine like a digital camera that measures the curvature of the cornea. The doctor then personally evaluates the fit of each contact.

Cleaning and Care

Along with their many advantages, contact lenses also come with many responsibilities. Patients must regularly clean and care for their lenses to ensure the highest level of vision and to protect the eye from disease and infection. This is done by adhering to the cleaning, disinfecting and disposal of the contacts as directed by your doctors. Cleaning and care can be significantly reduced by wearing disposable lenses that are thrown away at the end of each day.

Our professional Opticians have over 35 years of experience in the optical industry and ensure the highest quality of service and products. The Mittleman Eye staff can assist you in selecting a frame style that will enhance your features, appeal to your fashion sense and fit your budget. They will explain the type of lens that best suits your needs and ensure proper measurements.

The Optical Shop is conveniently located inside the West Palm Beach office of the Mittleman Eye . We carry a wide selection of designer, dress, leisure and sports frames for adults and children. Our team of opticians is happy to fill your prescription even from another office or practice. Minor repairs and adjustments can be completed on-site at no charge.

All frames and lenses carry a minimum of a one year warranty.

Cosmetic Services

Our highly trained staff is happy to offer our patients the following cosmetic services:

BOTOX Cosmetic® or Dysport®

Injection of Botulinum Toxin A to soften fine to medium lines around the eyes (crow's feet), between the eyebrows (glabellar), in the forehead and other areas. Full effects in 3 to 10 days. Lasts 2 1/2 - 4 months. Extremely effective with hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

Dermal Fillers

Injection of hyaluronic acid to soften or remove fine to medium lines and folds between the nose and mouth and between the mouth and chin. Initial results are immediate with full improvement in approximately 2 weeks. Lasts up to one year or longer (depending on product).

Volumizers

Injections of poly-L lactic acid to add volume to larger areas such as in the cheeks, in the temples, or around the chin due to normal aging. Requires multiple treatments (usually 2 - 4) for maximum improvement. Time between treatments is usually 4 - 6 weeks. Results can last up to 2 years or longer.

Sclerotherapy

Injection of saline solution to remove spider veins. Not appropriate for varicose veins. Procedure usually requires 2 – 6 treatments depending on severity of areas of concern. Noticeable results 3- 5 days after procedure.
