David Mittleman, M.D.

 Born and raised in White Plains, New York, David settled in West Palm Beach in 1992. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He did his ophthalmology residency at The Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. David is Board Certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology. Practicing general ophthalmology, David has honed his surgical skills and has developed a reputation as one the finest cataract surgeons in the Palm Beaches. David has repeatedly been chosen as a surgical investigator for national lens implant protocols, including the newest accommodative cataract implants. His care and treatment also includes a large volume of glaucoma, diabetic, pediatric, and cornea patients. David is on staff at Good Samaritan Hospital and utilizes The Laser and Surgical Center of the Palm Beaches for his procedures. His professional memberships include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Palm Beach County Ophthalmology Society.

Krista Rosenberg, M.D. Retina

Dr. Rosenberg received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physiology from the University of California. She earned her Medical Degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and received the Philadelphia Women’s Association Scholarship for Academic Excellence. She completed her internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. She completed her ophthalmology residency and additional training as a Fellow in Vitreoretinal Surgery and Diseases at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.She is Board-Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Rosenberg’s research is published in several national ophthalmology journals and has been presented at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology (ARVO), Macula Society, and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. She has been involved in several clinical trials of treatments for age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema.

Dr. Rosenberg is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Palm Beach Ophthalmologic Society, and Florida Society of Ophthalmology. She is a lecturer in ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Dr. Rosenberg is a partner at The Retina Group of Florida.

Matthew Kay, M.D. Neuro-Ophthalmology

Dr. Matthew Kay hails from Philadelphia where he completed his neuro-ophthalmology training at the renowned Wills Eye Hospital. He then moved to South Florida to assume a faculty position at the University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. In 1995, Dr. Kay established the first full time private practice in the tri-county area devoted entirely to neuro-ophthalmology. Dr. Kay has published numerous articles in scientific journals. He frequently lectures at neuro-ophthalmology symposia including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). Dr. Kay serves as the vice chair of the neuro-ophthalmology subsection of the AAO’s practicing ophthalmologists’ curriculum and co-teaches the AAO’s annual Board review course. Dr. Kay’s practice is limited to neuro-ophthalmologic disorders including optic nerve diseases, double vision, and neurologic conditions affecting the visual pathways. Dr. Kay makes his home in North Miami with his wife and two children. He is a noted wine connoisseur and enjoys world travel.

Elon Luzon, O.D.

 Raised in New Jersey, Elon now makes his home in West Palm Beach. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Maryland and his Visual Science degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Elon also earned his Doctor of Optometry degree and completed his internship training at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. His externship training was completed in South Florida and at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Elon is Board Certified through the National Board Of Examiners in Optometry. Prior to his relocation to Florida, Elon practiced as an optometric physician in New York. In addition to treating and managing ocular diseases, Elon specializes in contact lens fittings. His professional memberships include the Florida Optometric Association, the American Optometry Association, and the Palm Beach County Optometric Society.

Debbie Igoe, Optician

 Born and raised in West Palm Beach, Debbie has been involved the optical business for over 25 years. She possesses a wealth of experience in meeting the visual requirements of our patients. Debbie joined the Mittleman Eye team in 1998. She has a keen sense of fashion, which helps us to offer the latest styles and to fit our patients with the most appropriate eyewear for their unique appearance.

Along with her husband John, Debbie has a love of the mountains and is an avid skier and snowboarder. They have enjoyed many vacations to Argentina, Chile, British Columbia, Colorado, and Utah, and look forward to future travels!

Jim Hurlbert, Optician

 Living between Florida and Kansas City, Jim also has over 25 years experience in the optical industry. His experience includes the management of two large optical shops, one of which specializes in pediatrics. In addition to this, Jim spent three years as an outside ophthalmic frame sales representative. This experience gives him the ability to provide the correct inventory mix for the optical shop at Mittleman Eye Center. Jim thrives in working with our patients to meet their visual and fashion requirements.
